OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — The Oklahoma City Spark proudly announces the signing of standout right-handed pitcher Meghan Golden from Grand Canyon University (GCU). Golden's exceptional performance during the 2025 season has solidified her reputation as one of collegiate softball's premier pitchers.
In her senior year at GCU, Golden achieved a remarkable 14-1 record, maintaining a stellar 1.06 ERA over 99.1 innings pitched. Her dominance on the mound was further evidenced by a .96 WHIP and 70 strikeouts, while limiting opponents to a .196 batting average. Golden's contributions were pivotal in leading the Lopes to their fourth consecutive Western Athletic Conference (WAC) title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Golden's outstanding season earned her the 2025 WAC Pitcher of the Year award, marking her as the conference's top pitcher. She led the WAC in multiple categories, including ERA, opponent batting average, and home runs allowed.
"Meghan's track record of excellence and leadership on the field makes her an invaluable addition to our roster," said the General Manager Destinee McElroy. "Her competitive spirit and proven success at the collegiate level align perfectly with our team's goals."
Golden's accolades also include being named to the All-WAC First Team and receiving the 2024 Female Breakthrough Student-Athlete of the Year Award at GCU.
The Oklahoma City Spark looks forward to the impact Golden will bring to the pitching staff and the team's overall success in the upcoming season!
