Oklahoma City Spark Adds FSU Alum Sydney Sherrill to Roster

Oklahoma City, OK --- The Oklahoma City Spark welcomes former National Champion to the team.

Sydney Sherrill, a former Florida State standout, will join the Spark for the upcoming season. Sherrill, a graduate from Southmoore High School (Moore, Oklahoma), set many records in her five years as a Seminole. Sydney played 283 games at Florida State - a school record - and holds the single-game school record for home runs in a game with three against NC State.

Sherrill is a NCAA National Champion (2018), NFCA All-American, and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, along with many other awards and accolades. In her senior year, Sherrill started all 61 games at third base with a .321 batting average. She finished the season a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen bases. In her final year at Florida State, Sherrill was named to the All-ACC First Team for the fourth time.

“I’m super excited to be back home playing for the OKC Spark. I cannot wait for this summer and to be a part of the growth of this amazing game. Getting to play in my own backyard is a dream come true! Let’s go Spark!” Sydney Sherrill

When asked about the addition to the team, Coach Flores commented, “Adding Sydney to this team is a great move. I watched Sherrill play at Florida State and have followed her career closely. She plays the game with such skill and athleticism. Sherrill will be great for the Spark.”

The Oklahoma City Spark’s inaugural season will launch in June 2023.
