OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — The Oklahoma City Spark proudly announces the signing of Dejah Mulipola, a softball powerhouse from Garden Grove, California, for the upcoming 2024 season. Mulipola, renowned for her Olympic Silver Medal and Women’s College World Series appearances - among numerous accolades - is set to bring her outstanding talent to the Spark, bolstering the team's lineup and adding depth to their roster.
Dejah Mulipola rose to prominence most recently as the 2022 Athletes Unlimited Softball Champion, showcasing her power behind the plate and in the box. With an impressive pro career, Mulipola boasts remarkable statistics with Athletes Unlimited, including 128 at-bats, 43 hits, 14 home runs, 37 RBIs, and a notable 0.336 batting average.
Her achievements extend to the international stage, where Mulipola contributed significantly to Team USA's success in the 2020 Olympics. As a 2022 Pan American Championship gold medalist, she hit an impressive .389 (7-18) with one home run, eight RBIs, and 12 runs scored. Mulipola earned a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics and a gold medal at the 2022 World Games, where she hit .615 (8-for-13) with a double, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs scored.
Mulipola's illustrious college career at the University of Arizona further solidifies her status as a softball luminary. Coached by the legendary Mike Candrea, she led the Wildcats to two Women’s College World Series appearances in 2019 and 2021. Mulipola boasted a .334 batting average, .455 on-base percentage, .716 slugging percentage, and a remarkable 1.171 OPS. She amassed 33 doubles, 68 home runs, and 203 RBIs as a Wildcat. A three-year starter at catcher, Mulipola earned prestigious awards such as the Johnny Bench Catcher of the Year in 2019 and NFCA Catcher of the Year in 2019 and 2021. She concluded her college career with 68 home runs, ranking 9th in UA history.
