Spark Undefeated At Home, Head To Post-Season Play

Spark Breeze Past Florida Vibe

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma City Spark easily dispatched the Florida Vibe in a four-game series at Oklahoma Christian University, winning 8-0, 14-6, 12-3, and 9-4 this week.


In game one on Sunday, the Spark opened the scoring in the second after Haley Lee hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. OKC added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hits. Jocelyn Alo singled, scoring one run, and Kinzie Hansen homered to center field, scoring three runs. Maddie Penta continued her hot streak this season by earning the win for the Spark. She gave up five hits with zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Hansen drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Spark with three runs batted in. Alynah Torres, Jayda Coleman, Alyssa Brito, Hansen, Michelle Moultrie, Sydney Sherrill, Alo, and KK Madrey each collected one hit for OKC Spark.


In game two on Monday, the Spark defeated the Vibe 14-6 thanks to the clutch display from Sydney Sherrill! In the fifth inning, Sherrill hit a grand slam to center field to end the game early, totaling five runs on two hits. The Florida Vibe opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles, and managed to hold onto the momentum for the first two innings. The Spark flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 7-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Jocelyn Alo that drove in two. Alynah Torres hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the third for the Spark. OKC added to their lead with six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning thanks to home runs by Jayda Coleman and Sherrill.


In game three on Tuesday, Jocelyn Alo hit two home runs and drove in three as the Spark defeated Florida 12-3. Alo homered in the third and first innings. OKC scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. The Vibe's Sam Gress induced Michelle Moultrie to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Jayda Coleman singled, scoring one run, and Alyssa Brito hit a grand slam to left field. Alyssa Brito ended the game with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the fifth, mirroring Sydney Sherrill's epic game ender from the previous night. Kelly Maxwell earned the win for Spark during her first outing in OKC since winning the 2024 Women's College World Series. The lefty allowed three hits and three runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Brito provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the OKC Spark with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-4 on the day.


During the series finale on Wednesday, Alyssa Brito carried over her momentum into the leadoff spot and hit a solo home run to left field in the first inning. Brito went on to drive in four runs on three hits to lead the Spark past the Florida Vibe 9-4. In the bottom of the third, the Spark broke up the tie when Haley Lee homered to left field, scoring two runs. Then a triple by Brito followed to extend the lead to 6-2. Megan Golden earned the win for OKC. The starter allowed eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Amber Fiser collected the save. The Spark bats accumulated 12 hits and six walks for the game.
