OKC Spark Welcomes Todd Miller as Play-by-Play Announcer

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — The Oklahoma City Spark is excited to announce the hiring of Todd Miller as the team's new play-by-play announcer for the upcoming 2024 season. Hear him in action during all home games* on Cox YurView channel 3 and live streamed for free at watch.yurview.com/okcspark .

Miller brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for sports to his new role. A native of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and a resident of Oklahoma City, Miller has been the voice of Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) athletics since 2015, covering basketball, baseball, softball, and football.

Miller’s broadcasting journey began in high school at his hometown radio station in Blackwell, Oklahoma, where he gained early experience in both color commentary and play-by-play announcing. His career spans over 30 years, during which he has held various roles, including sports director at KALV in Alva, Oklahoma, and freelance work for the online streaming app Skordle.

Reflecting on his career, Miller said, “I’ve been really lucky. I started at my hometown radio station in Blackwell, Oklahoma in high school, and they gave me a lot of opportunities not a lot of young, inexperienced people get. I’m excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm to the OKC Spark and connect with the community through our broadcasts.”

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he also called play-by-play for the Rangers. At OBU, he was instrumental in creating “Todd Talks,” a Zoom-driven program that kept the community engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic by featuring interviews with coaches and players.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Miller has a long history of engaging with fans and bringing sports to life through his dynamic commentary. His notable career highlights include calling Northwestern Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball first-round win against Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the 1992 national championship.
